Captain Butler was very appreciative of the Santa Cop donation from NLBA members who donated during the Christmas party. It makes a big difference in the community.
Featured Speaker
Zach Smith – First National Bank – Understanding your Credit Score
Zach gave the group an overview of the information that the credit bureaus report. He also provided an overview of who may pull your credit report and common misconceptions people have about credit scores. There is a hard credit pull and a soft credit pull. A hard credit pull will affect your score. These pulls are usually done for lending purposes. A soft credit pull does not affect your score and may be pulled by your employer or landlord. What factors affect your credit score: payment history; amounts owed; length of history – how long you’ve had an account open; new credit – new inquires; types of credits used. Zach wrapped up by providing ways someone can improve their credit score.
