LPD held a training event at the airport also in September. The Santa Cop auction will be held at the Center for People in Need, 3901 N 27th Street, on Sunday, November 11th from noon – 4PM.
Featured Speaker
Dr. Todd Johnson, Access Family Medicine
Dr. Johnson spoke to the group about direct primary care. Dr Johnson and his wife started Access Family Medicine two years ago. Direct primary care is not concierge medicine. They are membership (subscription) based but does not bill insurance at all. This cuts out a significant amount of overhead. There are no copays and no deductibles. Dr. Johnson does not limit the amount of office visits either. They also offer wholesale pricing on labs, imaging, and medication among others. Why move to a direct primary care? The current system of healthcare can be very complicated and confusing to navigate. Direct primary care is not anti-insurance but pro efficiency. Patients are encouraged to have insurance to cover any catastrophic life events.
